A Toy-Making Live Session! From Sherene
A note from TaraBooks:
"To catch you up, our previous Instagram Lives have included a puppet-making session where viewers got to make a friendly Chatterbox of their own; a read-through of one of our most delightful and absurd books—The Barber’s Dilemma; a drawing and colouring activity about paying attention to the lives of trees; a behind-the-scenes look through our various print-making processes; a journey through the life and work of self-taught artist Tejubehan; and most recently, a discussion about what art can teach us in times of uncertainty that featured some special pieces from our archives.
This Wednesday, the 6th of May, we’re inviting you to join us for an interactive toy-making session. Learn more about folk toys and the story behind our bestselling book Toys and Play while making simple and inventive toys with materials picked up from around the house, like the fantastic Naf and the cheerfully noisy Screech. We’ll also be talking about the potential of play and what we can learn through the acts of making and doing.
The session begins at 4pm Indian Standard Time on our Instagram and you’ll be able to find a recording on our page later this week, in case you miss it."
