Watch on Amazon Prime. In 1993, Marisa Tomei won her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, and at the time, people thought it was a mistake. I, for one, don’t think that; her award-winning performance is utterly iconic. Tomei and Joe Pesci rule the screen as two leather-clad, fish-out-of-water New Yorkers who come down to Alabama to help bust out Vinny’s cousin (played by Ralph Macchio) and his friend (Mitchell Whitfield) out of jail for a murder mixup. No matter how many times you’ve seen it, the movie is always worth a revisit.
