Mindful March
Can you believe that it is already March? Time surely flies when you're having fun! As a school community, you may have heard the buzz around "mindfulness". Several members in our community will soon be starting mindfulness course(s) and sparking more conversations on this topic across campus.
Have you heard of Mindful March? Action for Happiness has created a calendar of small things that you could do each day to be more mindful. Taking small steps creates habits, and what better habit to start than becoming more mindful?
Check out the calendar below, which appropriately says "Start today by appreciating that you're alive and have a body" for Wednesday, March 4th. This calendar is something you could do independently, with your family, and/or with your students. (Hey, World Language Teachers, they even have calendars in different langauges! You can visit www.actionforhappiness.org to download your very own Mindful March calendar).
An Athena Update
On Monday, February 24th, Shannon's daughter, Athena, underwent heart surgery and now she is recovering nicely. The Zirkle-Prabhakar family are finally at their home in Maryland resting and recovering with their adorable twins.

Ladies' Clothing & Jewelry Exchange
There has been so much interest in a clothing and jewelry swap! The Wellness Committee is meeting after school on Monday, March 9th to discuss logisitics. If you would like to be a part of the planning team, please let Keeley know and you can join our meeting!
AISC Libraries Book Swap
The AISC Libraries want to celebrate Earth Week with the community by organizing a way to reuse your previously loved books! If you have any gently used books at home (in any language and/or genre) that you'd like to donate, please bring them to the ES/MS or HS Library. We will accept books for babies, toddlers, children, teens, and adults, as long as they are in good condition. For every two books that are donated, you will receive a ticket for one free book at the Book Swap!
Please contact Barbara Bowman at bbarbara@aischennai.org if you have any questions.
