Gratitude and Positive Feelings Can Change The World

"Every individual’s energy affects the collective field environment. This means each person’s emotions and intentions generate an energy that affects the field. A first step in diffusing societal stress in the global field is for each of us to take personal responsibility for our own energies. We can do this by increasing our personal coherence and raising our vibratory rate, which helps us become more conscious of the thoughts, feelings, and attitudes that we are feeding the field each day. We have a choice in every moment to take to heart the significance of intentionally managing our energies. This is the free will or local freedom that can create global cohesion. – Dr. Deborah Rozman, the President of Quantum Intech (source) ". Click here to read the full article.
Here is the challenge of the week. Answer the trivia questions and stand a chance to win cool prizes. The first three winners will be those who get all the answers right. What you waiting for click on the link.

JOY OF GIVING

Thank you so much for your generosity. We are so grateful to those who have promised to contribute. Similar to most Operation Appreciation events, our cup runneth over! All slots are filled!

On Monday, 9 December 2019, please deliver your gift to the ASIC staff member you have signed up for. Make sure your gift is labeled with the department, receiver’s full name, and your full name (ex: Food Services, To Boopathy Raj. S From Priya Venugopal). If you do not know who this person is, feel free to drop off your gift to the SHED by 8:30, Monday morning. Priya and Sarah will make sure your gift finds its rightful receiver. Once you deliver your gift to the person directly or drop it off in the SHED please make sure that you mark it off on the spreadsheet. This will help us keep track and make sure that everyone receives their gift.

As you can imagine, we are so excited for this event to take place. With that being said, some people are concerned about equity in gift-giving. We know that some of you may want to a) purchase something, b) create something or c) provide a gift worth more than 500Rs. We ask you to be mindful of others. The 500Rs amount was set so that all who wanted to participate in this Operation Appreciation would have the resources to do so. The overarching intent of this initiative is to connect with someone you may not know through the Joy of Giving.

Happy Holidays!

Priya Venugopal  and Sarah Sahr

SECRET SANTA

At their last meeting, it was decided that the Wellness Committee will host an All-School Secret Santa gift exchange this year. This gives us all an opportunity to get to know each other better and connect us as an organization.

Please use this form to sign up if you wish to play Secret Santa. Bear in mind that participation is optional. The form will also ask you for information that you can share that will help your Secret Santa prepare gifts for you.

Logistics on how Secret Santa will work:
Secret Santa will be played in the last week of school before Winter Break, which is December 16th–20th.
It will be a system-generated list and you will be assigned a person. This avoids any confusion and ensures everyone who has signed up receives a Secret Santa.
Surprise them! It can be anything from a simple note that would cheer up their day, a 60-rupee gift, a snack, or you can get a little creative to make your own gifts.
Make sure you gift your giftee a minimum of two and a maximum of three times each week. Reveal who you are with the final gift on Friday, December 20th.
The form needs to be completed by December 6th.

Weekly Wellness Blog: November 27th, 2019

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend everyone. You might be surprised or maybe not but my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I consciously make an effort in writing thank you notes to people to whom I am grateful.  I was introduced to Thanksgiving only after I joined the American International School decades ago. At that time I just thought this was such an interesting concept of thanking people who make your life easy not knowing there was an entire history behind it. However, having said that I have incorporated that holiday in my life as being mindful of thanking people in my life who make a difference to it. In this deceptively simple 3-minute talk, Dr. Laura Trice muses on the power of the magic words "thank you" -- to deepen a friendship, to repair a bond, to make sure another person knows what they mean to you. Try it.

Last week the challenge was "to post about a colleague for whom you are grateful, Post what you love about working in an international school or Post something you are thankful for living in India on Twitter. Use the hashtag #aiscwellbeing. The first 10 winners get a chance to win exciting prizes". We only had one entry and the winner of that challenge is Daphne. The challenge continues and I am hoping more of you participate. If it makes it easier for you please email me the image with your reasons.
